I have held a camera to my eye for many years searching for something in my viewfinder that reflects the beauty and movement of nature not typically seen with our eyes.

I see portraiture in nature as landscaped with vibrant color and light, stillness and rhythms, drama and platitude.  I have worked hard to learn the tools of the profession, but have worked more intensely on honing the skills of persistence and patience to accurately depict the excitement and joy found in those fleeting moments of beauty that surround us.

My hummingbird series freezes the delicate yet frenzied aerodynamics that dictates their fragile existence while enhancing the natu­ral backdrop to compliment the frenetic scene.

My western art series comes from a photographic eye, but digitally painted for effect.
